About Our School
John Paul II Collegiate opened its doors in 2005 as Okotoks' first Catholic Junior High School. In April, 2014, John Paul II was canonized a saint and we officially changed our name to St. John Paul II Collegiate. We serve students from grade 7 through grade 9 and have a student population of approximately 750 students.
The staff of St. John Paul II Collegiate is an amazing group of people dedicated to the success of each and every student in our learning community. By providing the best in instructional methodology and a warm, caring environment, we are confident that every student will leave our school having had an enriching and powerful experience. Our motto: Ex Eodum fonte fides et scientia / "From the same font, faith and knowledge" expresses our mission to develop in our students not only academic success, but a strong faith as well.
In an effort to provide the highest quality educational experience to our students we offer several wonderful learning opportunities. St. John Paul II Collegiate offers a growing Late French Immersion program, a tremendous Learning Support program, and a full slate of option courses that will challenge our students and allow them to develop a variety of skills and talents.
JPII also offers a wide variety of educational experiences outside of the classroom with our extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Students have many opportunities to be part of various sports teams and clubs. Again, our mission is to provide our students with an enriching experience to prepare them to live their lives with confidence.
